Dust, pet hair and lost crumbs collect under beds, sofas and cabinets, where a regular upright can't reach without moving heavy furniture. The best vacuum for under furniture should fit into low gaps, keep a powered brush working on the floor once it's under there, and still clean the rest of your home well. A slim robot that slides under on its own or a stick vacuum that lays flat to the floor are the two designs that do this best.
We compared 5 vacuums for under furniture across different price ranges and home types to help you find the right one for your home.

The 5 Best Vacuums for Under Furniture
ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 PRO Omni
- Only 3.19 inches tall, with no raised LiDAR turret
- Cleaned under a sofa, tables and chairs without getting stuck in hands-on testing
- 0% hair tangle and well above average mopping in independent tests
- Dock self-empties, washes mops with hot water and dries them
- Obstacle avoidance tested slightly below average
- Built-in LiDAR maps less precisely than a turret
- Side brush can scatter debris on hard floors
- Large dock needs floor space
ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 PRO Omni review
This is the vacuum we'd pick for most homes, because it cleans under furniture every day without you lifting a thing. Most mapping robots carry a LiDAR turret on top that adds height. ECOVACS moved the sensor inside the body, which keeps the T50 PRO Omni at 3.19 inches. In a hands-on home review, it cleaned under a sofa, tables, chairs and a dining unit without getting stuck.
It also does the main job well. In independent lab testing, it removed 79% of embedded sand from carpet, above the 75% average, picked up 86% of pet hair and had zero hair wrap in a 7-inch hair test. Its mopping score for dried-on stains was well above average too, and the same tester named it the best value on its top robot list.
The trade-offs are small but real. Obstacle avoidance tested slightly below average, so pick up cables and socks under the bed first. If you have lots of carpet or tall thresholds, the Roborock Saros 20 cleans carpet more deeply. For precise room mapping, see our picks for the best robot vacuums with LiDAR.
Roborock Saros 20
- Fits under furniture as low as 3.13 inches
- Removed 89% of embedded sand from carpet in independent testing
- Climbed a 57 mm threshold in testing, a record for that tester
- No hair tangle and strong pet hair pickup
- The most expensive pick here
- Mop pads come off by hand before deep carpet runs
- Obstacle avoidance is good, not perfect
- More features than a small home needs
Roborock Saros 20 review
The Saros 20 is the robot to buy if you want slim and powerful in one machine. Roborock replaced the usual LiDAR turret with flat 3D sensors and a camera, which keeps it at 3.14 inches, and says it fits under furniture as low as 3.13 inches.
What sets it apart is carpet cleaning. In an independent embedded-sand test, it removed 89% of the sand, one of the best robot results recorded, and it picked up 88% of pet hair with no tangles. Its AdaptiLift chassis raises the body to cross raised doorways and thick rug edges. It climbed a 57 mm threshold in that test, so it can travel through older homes where a robot usually gets stuck. The dock washes the mops with 212°F water and empties dust for up to 65 days.
It costs much more than any other pick, and reviewers note the mop pads come off by hand before deep carpet sessions. If your floors are mostly hard surfaces, the ECOVACS T50 PRO Omni does the under-furniture job for far less. Compare more all-in-one models in our best robot vacuum and mop combo guide.
Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal Plus IZ382H
- MultiFLEX wand bends to reach under low furniture
- Self-cleaning brushroll stops hair wrap
- HEPA filter and Anti-Allergen Complete Seal
- Dirt-Reveal headlights show dust in dark spots
- A lab found Shark’s PowerDetect cleans bare floors and carpet better
- No automatic dirt sensing
- Runtime claim is measured in standard mode
- Only two accessory tools
Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal Plus IZ382H review
A stick vacuum is still the quickest way to clean under one piece of furniture right now, and the PowerPro Flex is built for it. Its MultiFLEX wand has a hinge in the middle. Press the release and the lower half drops nearly flat, so the floor head glides under a bed or sofa while the motor and bin stay above the frame. You don't kneel, and you don't move anything. The same hinge folds the vacuum in half for storage.
An independent lab that tested it found its pet hair pickup much stronger than Shark's pricier PowerDetect, and its battery lasts longer. The self-cleaning brushroll keeps long hair from wrapping, FloorDetect changes brush speed for carpet or hard floors, and Dirt-Reveal headlights make dust easy to see in the shadows under furniture. You also get a HEPA filter with a sealed system, which matters when you're stirring up months of dust.
That lab rated the PowerDetect better on bare floors and carpet, so this isn't Shark's deepest cleaner. Shark rates runtime at up to 50 minutes in standard mode. See more options in our best cordless stick vacuums roundup.
Levoit LVAC-200
- Lays flat to the floor to reach under furniture
- Removed 96% of embedded sand from carpet in testing
- No hair wrap in testing, thanks to built-in combs
- Light handle, removable battery and an LED headlight
- Small 580 ml bin
- About 12 minutes on max with the floor head
- No battery level display
- Sealed system, but no HEPA filter
Levoit LVAC-200 review
The LVAC-200 is the budget stick we'd buy for cleaning under furniture. Its body tilts all the way down, so the wand and head lie flat on the floor and slide under a sofa or bed frame. An independent tester confirmed you can lay it flat to grab debris under furniture, and called it the highest-scoring cordless vacuum in its price range by a wide margin.
The results back that up. It removed 96% of embedded sand from carpet, picked up all sizes of debris on carpet and hard floors without pushing it around, and handled 14-inch hair without wrapping. The handle is light, the battery comes out for charging, and an LED on the head lights up the dark space under furniture.
The limits come from its price. Shark's PowerPro Flex adds a HEPA filter and a longer runtime. The 580 ml bin is small, runtime drops to about 12 minutes on max with the floor head, and there's no battery gauge. Plan on short, frequent sessions. eufy 11S MAX
- Slimmest pick at 2.85 inches tall
- Reached under couches and toe kicks easily in hands-on testing
- BoostIQ raises suction on carpet
- Up to 100 minutes on hard floors
- No Wi-Fi, app or room mapping
- Bump-and-turn paths, so cleaning takes longer
- Cables and throw rugs can trap it
- Small bin and no self-empty dock
eufy 11S MAX review
If your furniture sits lower than 3.2 inches, this is the robot that will fit. At 2.85 inches tall, the 11S MAX is thinner than any mapping robot we picked. A hands-on review found it easily slipped under couches and cabinet toe spaces, and called it a great budget option for keeping floors clean between deep cleanings. Its 2000 Pa suction is a clear step up from earlier eufy models, and BoostIQ raises power when it rolls onto carpet.
It's simple by design. There's no Wi-Fi or app, so you start it with a remote or the button, and it cleans in straight lines until it bumps into something. That's slower and less tidy than a mapped run, though it covers the space under furniture well because it doesn't avoid it. It runs up to 100 minutes on hard floors and returns to its dock to charge.
Clear cables before each run, because they can tangle it. You also empty a small bin by hand. If you want an app, no-go zones and mapping on a budget, see our best budget robot vacuums with mapping.

Vacuums for under furniture compared

Prices and availability change often. Heights and features come from maker listings, and test results come from the published sources named in How We Picked and Tested. Star ratings are our editorial judgment, not our own lab tests.
How much space do you need under furniture?
Start with a tape measure. Measure from the floor to the lowest point under each bed, sofa and dresser you want cleaned. That's usually the frame rail or a support bar in the middle, not the front edge. Many sofas and bed frames sit 3.5 to 6 inches off the floor, while some dressers and platform beds sit lower.
For a robot, add at least a quarter inch to its height. A 3.19-inch robot needs about 3.5 inches of space to roll in and back out without wedging itself. If your lowest gap is under 3.5 inches, the eufy 11S MAX at 2.85 inches is the safer choice. If you have plenty of room, any of our robots will fit, and you can choose on cleaning power and features instead.
For a stick, height matters less, because only the floor head goes under. What matters is how flat the wand can go. A stick that lays flat or bends in the middle can reach 2 to 3 feet under a bed while you stand. A regular stick stops when the bin or motor hits the frame.
Watch for sofa skirts and low side rails. Fabric skirts can confuse a robot's bump sensors, and a rail around a bed can block a robot completely even when the space inside is open. In those cases, a lay-flat stick is the better tool. Smaller homes often do best with one of each, which we cover in our guide to the best vacuum for a studio apartment.
How to choose a vacuum for under furniture
A robot only cleans where it fits. Even half an inch too tall means the dust under your sofa stays there.
On a stick vacuum, the bin and motor sit on the wand. If the wand can’t drop low, the head can’t slide far under the frame.
Dust under furniture sits for weeks and mats into carpet. Suction alone won’t lift it.
Hair and lint collect under beds. A wrapped brush slows down and leaves dirt behind.
The space under furniture is dark, so it’s hard to see what you missed.
Old dust under furniture often holds dust mite and pet allergens.
Robot or stick: which is better for under furniture?
Choose a robot if you want the space under your furniture cleaned often without thinking about it. A slim robot goes under the bed and sofa on every run, so dust never builds up there. That's the main reason our top pick is a robot. If you're not sure a robot fits your routine, our guide on whether robot vacuums are worth it covers the pros and cons.
Choose a lay-flat stick if your furniture sits very low, has side rails or skirts, or if you only need to clean under it once in a while. A stick also handles the rest of the house, stairs and car seats, which a robot can't.
Choose both if you have a larger home or pets. A robot keeps the floor and the space under furniture clean day to day, and a stick handles corners, spills and the spots the robot can't reach.
How to clean under furniture with less effort
-
Measure your lowest gaps
Check the lowest point under each bed, sofa and dresser before you buy a robot, and add a quarter inch for clearance.
-
Clear cables and small items
Chargers, socks and toys hide under furniture. Pick them up so a robot doesn’t get stuck and a stick doesn’t suck them in.
-
Set no-go zones for traps
If a robot keeps wedging under one chair or recliner, mark that spot as a no-go zone in the app, or block it with a furniture riser or a small barrier.
-
Use slow, overlapping passes with a stick
Push the head all the way to the wall, then pull back slowly. Dust under furniture is light and loose, so slow passes stop it from blowing around.
-
Use the crevice tool along the frame
Dust collects along bed rails and sofa legs. Switch to the crevice tool for those edges after vacuuming the open floor.
-
Clean under furniture every week
A weekly pass, or a robot run every few days, keeps dust from building up and settling into carpet.
Vacuum for under furniture FAQs
What is the best vacuum for cleaning under furniture?
For most homes, the ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 PRO Omni. It’s 3.19 inches tall, cleaned under a sofa and tables without getting stuck in hands-on testing, and its dock empties the bin and washes the mops. If you’d rather clean by hand, choose the Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal Plus, whose wand bends to reach under furniture.
What is the slimmest robot vacuum for under furniture?
Of our picks, the eufy 11S MAX is the slimmest at 2.85 inches. Among mapping robots with self-empty docks, the Roborock Saros 20 (3.14 inches) and ECOVACS T50 PRO Omni (3.19 inches) are among the slimmest you can buy.
How much clearance does a robot vacuum need?
Plan for at least a quarter inch more than the robot’s height. A 3.2-inch robot needs about 3.5 inches of open space to roll in and back out reliably.
Why does my robot vacuum get stuck under furniture?
Usually the gap is just slightly lower than the robot, so it wedges itself under a rail or support bar. Measure the lowest point, set a no-go zone for that spot, or raise the furniture with risers.
Can a stick vacuum clean under a bed?
Yes, if it lays flat or has a bending wand. The Shark PowerPro Flex and Levoit LVAC-200 both drop low enough to push the floor head well under a bed frame while you stand.
Is it important to vacuum under the bed for allergies?
Yes. Dust, pet dander and dust mite debris collect under beds, close to where you sleep. A sealed vacuum with a HEPA filter helps. Our guide to the best vacuums for dust mite allergies covers models built for that.
How often should I vacuum under furniture?
Once a week works for most homes. Homes with pets or allergies benefit from a robot that cleans under furniture every day or two.
Which vacuum should you buy for under furniture?
- Best overall: ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 PRO Omni
- Best premium robot: Roborock Saros 20
- Best cordless stick: Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal Plus IZ382H
- Best budget stick: Levoit LVAC-200
- Best budget robot: eufy 11S MAX
Cleaning under furniture comes down to fit. Measure your lowest gap first. If a slim robot fits, the ECOVACS T50 PRO Omni cleans under your furniture on every run and handles the rest of the house too. Pick the Roborock Saros 20 for deeper carpet cleaning and tall thresholds, or the eufy 11S MAX for very low furniture on a budget. If you’d rather clean by hand, the Shark PowerPro Flex bends to reach under beds and sofas, and the Levoit LVAC-200 lays flat for much less.
How We Picked and Tested
We started with the problem itself: dust and hair that collect in the low, dark gaps under beds, sofas, dressers and cabinets. Before choosing any model, we set three rules, and all five picks meet every one. First, it has to reach under low furniture without you moving anything: each robot is 3.2 inches tall or less (the eufy 11S MAX is 2.85 inches, the Roborock Saros 20 is 3.14 inches and the ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 PRO Omni is 3.19 inches), and each stick either bends at the wand (Shark’s MultiFLEX) or lays flat to the floor (the Levoit LVAC-200). Second, it has a motor-driven brush, because dust that sits under furniture for weeks mats into carpet and suction alone won’t lift it. Third, an independent tester has reviewed it hands-on and published the results.
Within those rules, we chose one vacuum for each need: overall, premium robot, cordless stick, budget stick and budget robot. Each award reflects where that model is strongest. The T50 PRO Omni wins overall because it pairs a slim body with above-average carpet cleaning, strong mopping and a self-emptying dock at a mid-range price. The Saros 20 is our premium pick because it posted the stronger carpet and threshold results but costs far more. Features we treat as optional, such as room mapping, self-emptying, mopping, anti-tangle brushes and HEPA filtration, are shown per pick in the comparison table instead of being used as rules.
For performance, we relied on independent testing rather than marketing claims. Vacuum Wars supplied lab results for three picks: embedded-sand deep cleaning on carpet, pet hair pickup, hair tangle and threshold tests for the ECOVACS T50 PRO Omni and Roborock Saros 20, and its full review of the Levoit LVAC-200, which confirms the lay-flat reach under furniture. RTINGS, which has bought and tested more than 100 vacuums, reviewed the Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal Plus and compared it against Shark’s PowerDetect. TechHive reviewed the eufy 11S MAX hands-on and noted how easily it slips under couches and cabinet toe spaces. We also used Homes & Gardens’ in-home review of the T50 PRO Omni, which checked that it cleaned under a sofa and tables without getting stuck, and Tech Advisor’s review of the Saros 20.
We checked every height, feature and spec we mention against the makers’ listings from ECOVACS, Roborock, Shark, Levoit and eufy and the current Amazon listings in October 2026. Heights are maker figures. Runtimes are maker claims unless we say a tester measured them, and where a figure isn’t published, such as the Shark’s weight, we leave it out instead of guessing. We did not test these vacuums ourselves, and we list each one’s limits so you can match it to your furniture and floors.
